CMW welcomes Anna Mackay to lead new business drive

We have made a key hire at CMW with the appointment of Anna Mackay as New Business Director.

Anna will be responsible for leading the agency’s growth and building on its expertise across a number of creative disciplines across both digital and traditional channels. She will report to our chief executive Liz Wilson.
 
With more than 12 years in business development roles, Anna has vast experience in planning and executing the strategic development for companies spanning a number of disciplines having been at Havas EHS (formerly EHS 4D), National Schools Partnership and Richmond Events. She joins from digital agency SYZYGY.
 
Speaking on the appointment, Liz Wilson said: “We are delighted to welcome Anna to the team. Her energy, enthusiasm and commitment mark her out as the ideal person to help us drive the agency’s continued growth. And her understanding of modern business development approaches make her the perfect fit for our agency culture and our proposition of ’helping big brands feel small’.”

Software as a service - a free service

There's a whole bunch of 'software as service' type sites cropping up, but which provide the service free. Picjuice lets you manipulate your photos as does Pixlr whereas Effect Generator provides Flash for the masses. These are great services. Wonder what the business model is? Still, let's enjoy it as long as it remains. It's a trend big enough that the mighty Adobe have launched a Photoshop Express website which does much the same as Picjuice and Pixlr but you have to sign up for an account - mind you you also get 2GB of free storage.

Free file storage - up to 10GB

Space is sooooo cheap nowadays. Up to 10GB from Humyo to store and share whatever you like (as long as it's a file, and I guess as long as it's legal and all that). They have a business service too - in case you want to store more than 10GB. It's amazing to us that this could be a viable business model - well, amazing to those of us who can recall our first 32MB portable MP3 player. The very best of luck to them.

Visit4info has a whole bunch of TV and cinema ads. Useful resource. You can search by sensible categories and you can download the videos. Or you can just browse about and be entertained for a short while - yes, it turns out that some of these TV and cinema ads actually entertain and that can be worthwhile in brand development terms. Who'd have thought it?
