What's the biggest area of rubbish in the world?

Fresh Kills Landfill on Staten Island? Nope, although it's apparently the largest man-made stucture in the world.

The answer is the Pacific Trash Vortex or the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It's created by all those non-biodegradeable bits of plastic that are trapped by an ocean current know as the North Pacific Gyre
